Properties of Solid Materials at Low Temperatures- Van Sciver (Recordings)

Properties of solid materials at low temperatures (95 min): This module reviews the properties of materials at low temperatures. The three major categories are thermodynamic, transport and mechanical properties. The thermodynamic properties are compared to basic physical models. The electrical and thermal transport properties are compared to electron and phonon transport theory. A survey of mechanical properties of materials that are commonly used in cryogenic systems is also given.  The module concludes with several examples.
