Superfluid helium (He II) (108 min): This module consists of a summary of the physics and engineering of heat and mass transfer in superfluid helium (He II). After an introduction and summary of the unique properties of He II, its basic properties are described in terms of the Two-Fluid model. The Two-Fluid model is then utilized to explain the unique transport properties. Surface heat transfer in He II is also unique and those characteristics are also explained. Examples of how to use the understanding of this unique fluid in cryogenic system design are also presented.
